Right-hander Chad Gaudin has agreed to terms with the A's to help shore up their injury-riddled pitching staff, three days after being released by the Yankees, according to an Associated Press report.
Gaudin was released by New York on Thursday after losing out to Phil Hughes for the No. 5 slot in the team?s rotation.
Oakland assistant GM David Forst on Sunday confirmed the deal.

San Francisco has rewarded starter Matt Cain, setup man Jeremy Affeldt and closer Brian Wilson with new deals.

Blalock, Rays Agree To Minor League Deal
Hank Blalock has agreed to a minor league deal with the Rays.
Blalock hit .234 with 25 homers and 66 RBIs in 123 games for the Rangers in 2009.
Cubs, Serrano Agree To Contract
The Cubs have agreed to a deal with Cuban defector Juan Yasser Serrano, a league source told ESPNChicago.com.
Serrano, a right-hander pitcher, still needs to pass a physical.
The deal is worth $250,000 and the Cubs are hoping to have him in camp before spring training ends.
Upton, D-Backs Agree To Six-Year Deal
The Diamondbacks and right fielder Justin Upton have reached an agreement on a six-year contract worth $51.25 million, sources told ESPN.
FOX Sports first reported that the two sides were closing in on a deal.
Upton hit .300 with 26 home runs and 86 RBIs in 2009.
